AirAsia Philippines Increases Flight Frequencies Ahead of Undas 2025 Travel Rush

AirAsia Philippines has announced an increase in flight frequencies across several major domestic routes to accommodate the surge of travelers expected during the Undas (All Saints’ Day) long weekend. The move comes as thousands of Filipinos prepare to head home or take short vacations, marking one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

In preparation for the upcoming holiday, the airline boosted its Manila-based operations to key provincial destinations. Flights from Manila (MNL) to Caticlan (MPH) have increased from 46 to 54 weekly, while services to Cebu (CEB) rose from 47 to 56. Other routes, such as Iloilo expanded from 28 to 32 flights per week, Tacloban (TAC) from 24 to 26, Tagbilaran (TAG) from 21 to 24, Puerto Princesa (PPS) from 20 to 21, Kalibo (KLO) from 17 to 19, and Cagayan de Oro (CGY) from 14 to 16 weekly flights.

“As one of the country’s busiest travel periods approaches, AirAsia is fully prepared to serve our kababayans who will be paying respect to their departed loved ones or spending quality time with family during the long weekend. These frequency upgrades are designed to offer more seats and flight options for our guests, ensuring a smooth and convenient travel experience,” according to AirAsia Philippines President & CEO Capt. Suresh Bangah.

The airline anticipates even higher passenger volumes this year, following an impressive 83% load factor recorded during last year’s Undas season. With the added flights, AirAsia aims to provide travelers with more flexible options and a hassle-free travel experience during the extended holiday period.

To help ensure a seamless journey for all passengers, AirAsia Philippines is encouraging travelers to plan ahead. The airline advises booking tickets at least a month in advance to enjoy the best fares, as flight demand typically rises closer to the travel dates. Passengers are also reminded to check their baggage allowance before heading to the airport and to consider purchasing additional baggage through the AirAsia MOVE app or the official website to avoid higher counter fees.

AirAsia also urges travelers to check in online to save time at the airport. Through the AirAsia MOVE app, guests can complete their check-in process and head straight to the bag drop counter upon arrival. Given the expected influx of passengers, the airline recommends that travelers arrive early — at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures — to account for longer queues during peak periods.
