WCC Aviation Holdings has officially entered into an agreement to acquire a 30% equity stake in PhilJets Aero Services Inc, representing a major strategic milestone in the group’s ongoing expansion throughout the Philippine aviation sector. Signed on 15 October 2026, by Dr. Raymond Patrick V. Guico, President of WCC Aviation Holdings, and Thierry Tea, Chairman of PhilJets, the transaction aligns two organizations that possess highly complementary operational capabilities alongside a shared dedication to the sustainable, long-term development of aviation in the country. This strategic investment builds upon a productive relationship between WCC Aviation Holdings and PhilJets that has spanned approximately ten years, effectively bridging the gap between academic instruction, practical technical skills, and real-world commercial execution.
This strategic direction leverages a substantial foundation in academic excellence and institutional experience. Rooted in more than 50 years of educational history through World Citi Colleges, the overarching group currently serves over 20,000 students across 30 hectares of facilities, boasting a proven track record of producing more than 200,000 employed graduates across its diverse array of academic programs. Building directly upon this educational bedrock, WCC Aviation Holdings unifies WCC Aeronautical & Technological College, WCC Pilot Academy, and Sky Pasada, connecting education and flight training directly with real industry requirements and tangible career paths. The investment in PhilJets further broadens this comprehensive ecosystem to incorporate specialized services such as business aviation, aircraft management, maintenance, technical support, flight dispatching, trip support, and ground handling.
For PhilJets, the deal represents a valuable opportunity to forge stronger connections between foundational aviation education, specialized technical expertise, and active real-world operations, laying the ground to cultivate homegrown talent and propel the next phase of growth in Philippine aviation in the age of AI.

Speaking on the strategic vision behind this investment, Dr. Guico emphasized the group’s holistic objective to link the entire professional spectrum. “Our vision is to connect the full journey, from educating aviation professionals and training pilots to serving passengers and growing aviation businesses. With WCC ATC, Pilot Academy and Sky Pasada, we have built a foundation across education and operations. This investment in PhilJets advances that vision, creating opportunities for our businesses to grow and for Filipino aviation talent to move forward.” By bringing these complementary units closer together, WCC Aviation Holdings seeks to foster a fully integrated national aviation ecosystem that develops Filipino professionals while creating lasting opportunities for business growth.
From an operational standpoint, PhilJets contributes a broad set of specialized capabilities to the partnership, encompassing expertise in both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft operations, including luxury business jets and helicopters. Over the years, the organization has built impressive technical capabilities covering avionics equipment, engines, and airframes, backed by long-standing relationships with leading international aerospace and equipment manufacturers. Highlighting these technical capabilities, Tea noted the company’s established operational maturity and expansive aircraft handling portfolio. “PhilJets has developed capabilities to manage, support and operate a multi-types fleet of aircraft from Gulsftream to Bombardier or Cessna Citation as well as Airbus and Bell Helicopters. As the Safran Helicopter Engine representative for civil and commercial customers, PhilJets has been maturing in the last 5 years along with the growing portfolio of corporate clients under service. We are excited with this new partnership to further strengthen the aviation ecosystem and build on stronger safety, quality and innovation. We are delighted to enter a new era of opportunities in the Philippines aviation industry.”
Beyond commercial and fleet operations, a critical pillar of alignment between the two organizations centers on developing the next generation of Filipino aviation professionals by linking classroom instruction directly to operational realities. PhilJets has established rigorous practical training frameworks to provide students and fresh graduates with hands-on exposure to industry practices. To date, more than 300 on-the-job trainees and Management Training Program participants have completed PhilJets’ programs, acquiring real-world experience across critical technical and operational functions. Graduates of these programs have subsequently secured positions with premier organizations such as Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Lufthansa Technik, while others have successfully pursued international careers across Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
As air transport and business aviation expand rapidly across Southeast Asia, this joint initiative creates valuable pathways for industry-led training, student immersion, professional mentorship, and direct employment opportunities for qualified aviation graduates. Aligning educational curricula with real-world operational standards will enhance training in key functional areas such as flight planning, flight dispatch, aircraft serviceability, maintenance procedures, and safety practices. Ultimately, this strategic transaction broadens WCC Aviation Holdings’ portfolio while providing PhilJets with a dedicated strategic shareholder, positioning both groups to explore collaborative opportunities that promote business expansion, enhance technical capabilities, and elevate the Philippine aviation ecosystem.
