Singapore Airlines (SQ) has officially revealed its all-new next-generation long-haul cabin products, introducing a major multi-billion-dollar transformation engineered entirely around how travellers work, dine, relax, and rest while flying. Representing an investment of more than S$2 billion across its First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class tiers, the comprehensive cabin overhaul forms an integral component of the carrier’s elevated end-to-end travel experience launched today. The massive long-term investment is slated for a progressive rollout starting in the second half of 2027 across 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range aircraft, as well as the airline’s upcoming Boeing B777-9 fleet.
The flagship Boeing B777-9 widebody aircraft will feature the entirely redesigned cabin products across all four classes of travel: First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. Meanwhile, the retrofit program will introduce the new Business Class seating across the 41 Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR airframes. In addition, the A350-900ULR ultra-long-range fleet will see the historic debut of a First Class cabin, marking the first time that Singapore Airlines brings a dedicated First Class product to this ultra-long-range platform.

Highlighting the strategic vision behind the ambitious cabin development, Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer, Singapore Airlines, said, “While each cabin has been designed individually, they are united by the same ambition to make the experience more comfortable, flexible, and rewarding for our customers. Singapore Airlines’ next-generation long-haul cabin products will ensure that our customers travel more comfortably than before, and have greater control over their in-flight experience, whether they are working, dining, relaxing, or resting.”
The architectural and technological evolution of these cabins is the direct result of an extensive research initiative that evaluated input from more than 5,000 frequent travellers, customers, airline staff, and global aviation industry experts. Through in-depth focus groups, comprehensive surveys, one-on-one interviews, and physical concept testing worldwide, the airline gathered detailed insights into how passengers divide their time and prioritize activities while airborne. The research revealed surging passenger expectations for higher levels of privacy, ergonomic comfort, intuitive functionality, operational flexibility, and seamless connectivity tailored to personalized requirements throughout the journey.
To translate these deep customer insights into operational reality, Singapore Airlines partnered with leading international design houses and specialized aerospace manufacturers. The carrier collaborated with PriestmanGoode to craft the First Class environment, Designworks to develop the Business Class interior, and Factorydesign to conceptualize the Premium Economy Class and Economy Class cabins. On the manufacturing side, SIA worked alongside Collins Aerospace to produce the First Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class seats, while selecting RECARO Aircraft Seating to build the new Business Class seats.
