Philippine Airlines (PAL) has secured its place as one of Asia-Pacific’s most punctual carriers, ranking seventh in the 2024 Cirium On-Time Performance Report. This marks an improvement from its eighth-place position last year and establishes PAL as the sole Philippine airline in the region’s top 10 list of “Top Airline Performers.”
According to Cirium, PAL achieved an impressive on-time arrival rate of 76.06%, covering over 112,000 flights across its extensive global network. The recognition highlights PAL’s continued commitment to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Notably, in January 2024, the airline earned the distinction of being the most punctual carrier in Asia-Pacific, with an on-time performance of 86.85%.
PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of the airline’s workforce and partners, “We greatly appreciate the recognition for the monumental efforts of our employees, service partners and industry stakeholders in achieving this on-time performance milestone, which affirms the long-term investments we are making in enhancing reliability and efficiency in all our operations, and always at the highest level of safety in line with Philippine Airlines’ uncompromising safety culture.”
The airline’s seventh-place finish positions it ahead of major carriers from Southeast Asia, China, Korea, and Australia. Other airlines in the top 10 list include those from Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Australia.
Cirium, a London-based aviation analytics company, has been tracking the on-time performance of airlines and airports for over 16 years, making its annual report one of the most trusted punctuality benchmarks in the industry.
