PAL Expands U.S. Footprint: New Manila-Chicago Nonstop Flights to Launch in November 2026

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially announced a significant expansion of its North American network with the introduction of a new nonstop service between Manila (MNL) and Chicago (ORD). Set to debut on 09 November 2026, this milestone route marks a strategic push to capture the Midwest market and reinforces PAL’s position as the leading Southeast Asian carrier for trans-Pacific travel.

The addition of Chicago O’Hare International Airport brings PAL’s total U.S. destinations to eight. The Windy City joins an elite list of current gateways, including Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), Seattle (SEA), Honolulu (HNL), Guam (GUM), and Saipan (SPN).

According to PAL leadership, Chicago serves as a premier aviation hub in the United States. Entering this market provides direct connectivity to the Midwest, a region with a substantial Filipino-American population and growing business interests. The Chicago–Manila corridor is expected to create vital links for passengers looking to connect through Manila to various domestic points in the Philippines and key regional destinations across Southeast Asia.

The new service will operate three times weekly, providing consistent options for both business and leisure travelers. The schedule is designed to optimize connectivity:

  • Frequency: Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Manila to Chicago: Afternoon departure, arriving at O’Hare in the afternoon (local time).
  • Chicago to Manila: Evening departure, arriving in Manila in the early morning two days later.

PAL will deploy its flagship Airbus A350-900 on this ultra-long-haul route. This aircraft is renowned for its quiet cabin, advanced humidity control, and fuel efficiency. Passengers can expect a full-service experience featuring curated onboard dining, generous baggage allowances, and premium cabin layouts designed for long-distance comfort.

Beyond passenger service, the A350-900’s belly-hold capacity will significantly boost the airline’s cargo operations. This allows for efficient transport of goods between the U.S. Midwest and the Philippines, strengthening trade ties and logistics.

Strategic Growth in the Trans-Pacific Market

The Chicago launch is part of a broader “Pacific Surge” for the airline. Effective 01 June 2026, PAL will increase its Manila (MNL) – Los Angeles (LAX) frequency from 14 to 18 flights per week. In addition, the recently launched Seattle service will see its frequency grow to six flights weekly during the peak months of June and July 2026.

This aggressive expansion comes at a time when PAL is receiving international recognition for its operational improvements. The airline was recently cited by Cirium as one of the most on-time carriers in Southeast Asia, a testament to its commitment to reliability.

Introductory Fares and Booking Information

To celebrate the launch, Philippine Airlines is offering special introductory round-trip Economy base fares starting at US$667. This promotional rate is available for bookings made between 16 April 2026 and 31 May 2026.

Travelers can secure their seats via the official PAL website, the mobile app, or through authorized travel partners. With the Midwest finally within direct reach, the “Heart of the Filipino” continues to beat stronger across the Pacific.
