Philippine passport holders can keep locking in those flights to Taipei. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) announced on Friday that Taiwan has officially extended its visa-free entry privilege for Filipinos for another year, pushing the deadline to 31 July 2027. Under the continued program, Filipino travelers can enter Taiwan visa-free for tourism, business, or family visits for stays of up to 14 days.

In a statement, TECO highlighted the mutual benefits of the extension, noting the ongoing travel boom between the two neighboring destinations, “In reciprocity for the visa-free privileges the Philippines has extended to Taiwan nationals, Taiwan has also extended its visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders for another year. We look forward to seeing two-way travel between Taiwan and the Philippines continue to grow.”

For the local aviation and travel community, this extension is a massive win. The Manila-Taipei route remains one of the most heavily contested and high-volume sectors out of the Philippines, serviced by a robust mix of full-service carriers and low-cost airlines, including Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Philippines, China Airlines, EVA Air, and STARLUX Airlines.

Aviation analysts expect demand to remain exceptionally strong through 2026 and 2027. The 14-day visa-free window provides a highly reliable demand baseline, allowing local airlines to maintain high capacity, offer aggressive seat sales, and sustain frequent schedules across hubs like Manila (MNL), Clark (CRK), and Cebu (CEB).

Mandatory Travel Requirements for Philippine Passport Holders

While the visa paperwork is waived, AvGeeks and leisure travelers must still ensure they meet standard entry protocols to successfully clear Taiwan Immigration. First and foremost, travelers must present a valid Philippine passport that has at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival.

In addition, passengers are required to show a confirmed return plane ticket or an onward ticket to their next destination, along with a valid visa for that next country if it is required. Immigration officers will also look for proof of accommodation bookings or host contact information, alongside evidence of sufficient travel funds for the duration of the stay. Finally, all arriving passengers must complete and submit the official Online Arrival Card via the Taiwan National Immigration Agency website prior to their departure from the Philippines.

With the extension now officially locked in until July 2027, the skies between the Philippines and Taiwan are set to stay busier than ever. Have you got your next plane spotting trip or Taipei food crawl planned yet? Let us know in the comments which airline you’re flying next!
