Magma Aviation has formally strengthened its operational footprint in East Asia by appointing Chapman Freeborn Greater China as its official General Sales and Service Agent across the Greater China region. The strategic appointment, which follows the official signing of an agreement on 25 June 2026, marks a significant progression in the ongoing commercial partnership between the two prominent air logistics entities. By formalizing this relationship, both organizations aim to streamline their commercial management, maximize regional capacity utilization, and enhance overall service delivery to air freight clients operating throughout the market.
Since the initial launch of Magma Aviation’s scheduled Boeing B747-400 Freighter services in China, Chapman Freeborn Greater China has played a foundational role in supporting the carrier’s commercial development and on-the-ground operational activities. This regional synergy is part of a broader global alignment between the companies, which already extends heavily into the European market. In Frankfurt, Chapman Freeborn Cargo Capacity Management serves as Magma Aviation’s General Sales Agent, where it routinely supports the company’s ongoing cargo management activities. Building directly upon this established historical cooperation in both China and Europe, the formal designation of Chapman Freeborn Greater China as GSSA represents the next logical phase of their global alliance, setting up a deeper, highly coordinated strategic collaboration in Greater China.
“Greater China remains a strategically important market for Magma Aviation. Appointing CF Greater China as our GSSA further strengthens our presence in the region and reflects our commitment to building closer relationships with our customers through a more localised market approach. This collaboration will enable us to provide our customers with the flexibility and specialist expertise they expect from Magma Aviation,” according to Peter Kerins, Chief Executive Officer of Magma Aviation.
Under this expanded commercial framework, Magma Aviation will integrate its established expertise in providing both long-term and ad hoc air cargo charter solutions with Chapman Freeborn Greater China’s deep local market intelligence and extensive regional commercial network. The two entities will work together to offer enhanced logistical support to an expanding customer base across Greater China. The newly signed agreement establishes a structured foundation designed to foster much closer day-to-day operational cooperation between the organizations. This unified commercial approach is expected to drive a consistent, highly customer-focused service model while aggressively capturing new growth opportunities throughout the burgeoning regional logistics sector.
Echoing these growth sentiments, Allen Liu, President of Chapman Freeborn Greater China, said, “We are pleased to further strengthen our collaboration with Magma Aviation through this appointment. Together, we will combine global air cargo capabilities with local market expertise to provide customers across Greater China with broader access to air cargo solutions, responsive support and a seamless service experience.”
By combining resources and leveraging complementary operational skills from within the broader Chapman Freeborn Group, the partnership will directly benefit shippers and forwarders by offering faster response times, highly tailored customer support, and direct access to an expanded portfolio of air cargo capacity solutions.
