Embraer and ANA Holdings Inc. have officially signed a purchase agreement for eight (08) E190-E2 aircraft, formalizing the Japanese airline group’s expansion plans that were originally unveiled on 29 July 2026. This newly finalized deal builds directly upon ANA HD’s original contract signed in 2025 for 15 firm E190-E2 aircraft. With this latest commitment, the Japanese aviation group increases its total firm order book for the E-Jets E2 family to 23 aircraft, while still maintaining five additional purchase options for the E190-E2 model.
The strategic acquisition is structured to enhance domestic and regional operations across Japan by deploying advanced small narrowbody technology. Delivering a balance of performance and efficiency, the E190-E2 forms a core part of Embraer’s advanced E-Jets E2 family. The generation of regional jets is widely recognized for its impressive fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, lower noise profile, and elevated passenger experience. These design attributes provide airlines with the operational versatility required to efficiently serve existing routes while unlocking potential new regional markets with reduced overhead costs and reduced environmental impact.

From the manufacturer’s side, the agreement reinforces Embraer’s footprint in the East Asian commercial aviation sector. “We are honoured by ANA HD’s continued confidence in Embraer E2 small narrowbody aircraft and look forward to supporting the airline’s growth plans in Japan. This milestone continues a long-standing history between the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer and Japanese commercial operators. Embraer E-Jets have been continuously operating in Japan since 2009, backed by dedicated local Embraer support personnel stationed within the country to ensure smooth operations. Under the current schedule, ANA HD expects to take delivery of its very first E190-E2 aircraft in 2028.
