Philippine budget carrier Cebu Pacific (5J) is updating its hand carry policy as part of its continuing efforts to improve the travel experience and make the boarding process more convenient for its passengers. Starting 15 September 2026, travelers flying on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights may bring up to 10kg of total hand carry items, an increase from the previous 7kg allowance. Meanwhile, flights operated under regional subsidiary Cebgo (DG) will continue to have a total hand carry allowance of up to 7kg.
The updated policy gives passengers more flexibility to bring what they need for their trip, while keeping clear limits on the number and size of hand carry items. According to the airline, these measures will also help crew members manage baggage more efficiently, complete pre-departure procedures on time, and keep flights on schedule.
Under the revised guidelines, passengers may only bring up to two (02) pieces of hand carry items on board. This consists of one (01) hand carry baggage to be placed in the overhead bin, and one (01) personal item designed to fit under the seat in front of the traveler. Passengers are reminded to ensure they can comfortably lift and stow their hand carry luggage in the overhead bin by themselves, or under the seat in front of them.
The airline has emphasized that hand carry items must strictly follow corresponding size limits. Overhead hand carry baggage must measure up to a height of 56 cm, length of 36 cm, and width of 23 cm. On the other hand, the smaller personal item must be within the maximum dimensions of height equal to 20 cm, length of 35 cm, and width of 20 cm. To help minimize flight delays and ensure a smoother boarding experience, passengers are urged to keep their hand-carry items strictly within the allowed number of pieces and weight limits.
Any hand carry item that exceeds CEB’s allowed limits will need to be checked in, subject to applicable baggage fees. For maximum convenience, passengers are encouraged to pre-purchase their checked baggage allowance or add additional baggage allowance via the Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific accounts. In addition, online check-in remains accessible via the CEB mobile app and official website, which effectively reduces passenger waiting time at the airport terminal and allows travelers without checked baggage to proceed straight to their assigned boarding gates.
