Cebu Pacific (5J) has formally inaugurated the brand-new Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Facilitation Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB | MCIA) Terminal 2. This strategic development is designed to streamline essential travel and government services for migrant workers, making them significantly more accessible both prior to departure and immediately upon arrival.

The establishment of this dedicated facility is a collaborative effort between Cebu Pacific, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, which operates the major Visayan hub. Operating as a comprehensive one-stop service center, the facility allows modern-day heroes to efficiently process their Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC) and seamlessly navigate other critical travel requirements without leaving the airport premises.

Leadership from Cebu Pacific emphasized that the airline deeply values the immense contributions of overseas Filipino workers to the country. Representatives noted that the carrier remains dedicated to supporting these travelers throughout their journeys. The launch of the facilitation center directly reflects the airline’s continuous push to deliver more practical, responsive, and tailored services that directly address the specific challenges faced by migrant workers and their households.

From the government perspective, the Department of Migrant Workers highlighted how this hub aligns perfectly with state efforts to decentralize public services and bring them closer to the people who need them most. Officials from the agency stressed that state responsibility to migrant workers extends far beyond crisis management. It encompasses proactive assistance before they board their flights and remains active until they safely return home. The presence of the new hub in Cebu serves as a tangible demonstration of the government’s vow to stay accessible to the migrant workforce.

This newly launched center represents the latest milestone in Cebu Pacific’s broader portfolio of programs tailored for the global Filipino community. It complements existing initiatives such as the Juan Flight Closer to Home balikbayan program, an aviation-centric campaign designed to incentivize skilled overseas professionals to repatriate and build rewarding careers within the rapidly expanding local aviation sector.

As a dominant force in regional aviation, Cebu Pacific currently maintains an extensive network that connects travelers to 35 domestic destinations and 26 international gateways spanning Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, ensuring that global Filipinos remain well-connected to their homeland.
